This study examined the manufacturing of fratricide-driven, unedited CD7 CAR-T cells for T-cell leukemia, a process complicated by fratricide, in which CAR-T cells attack each other due to shared CD7 expression, reducing achievable expansion and viability. The authors profiled these cells at the multi-omic level and evaluated their preclinical efficacy.
ELAREM™, PL BioScience’s Human Platelet Lysate (HPL), was used as a GMP-relevant supplement within the optimized expansion workflow described in the study, supporting CAR-T cell expansion and viability. The overall therapeutic outcome remains the result of the complete manufacturing process, of which ELAREM™ formed one supporting element.
